BYU now knows when its next game will begin.
Following a bye this weekend, the Cougars will travel across the country to East Carolina, with their Sept. 20 matchup against the Pirates now scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN2.
With the East Carolina kickoff time now finalized, each of BYU’s first five contests in 2025 are night games, with no further times having been announced yet.

The Cougars will visit Colorado on Sept. 27 for an 8:15 p.m. MDT start, and then return to Provo to host West Virginia on Friday, Oct. 3 at 8:30 p.m. MDT.
But with the time difference, the East Carolina start time will actually be the earliest of the season locally, as it will be 5:30 p.m. Utah time.
Since 2019, BYU is 34-4 in games beginning at 6 p.m. or later. According to ESPN analytics, the Cougars have a 79.9% chance to defeat East Carolina.
BYU is 1-2 all-time against the Pirates, winning the first meeting in 2015 before falling on the road in 2017 and losing on a last-second field goal in Provo in 2022.
