The first availability reports — otherwise known as injury reports — required of a Mountain West Conference football team will come from Utah State and Air Force tomorrow night.
A rule change implemented ahead of the 2025 season requires that all MWC teams submit availability reports two days before game day.
Per the Mountain West, the initial reports from both USU and AFA will be published on TheMW.com/reports tomorrow night at or around 8:15 p.m MDT.
Both teams will also submit an updated report on game days, reports that will be published about two-and-a-half hours before kickoff at Maverik Stadium at 7:55 p.m. MDT.
Reports will include players’ names and their availability status, but specific injury details are not required.
The reasons given for the availability reports, per the Mountain West Conference, center around sports wagering and fair play, but also are an attempt “to protect student-athlete privacy, reduce outside pressure on student-athletes for inside information, ensure transparency, and promote competitive integrity,” a statement from the MWC reads.
“This policy also addresses public confidence in fair play and the integrity risks associated with sports wagering,” the statement continued. “Required availability reporting will be woven into the conference’s established sports wagering integrity and compliance partnership with IC360, thus adding to an already robust infrastructure to protect Mountain West competition. IC360 is a specialist in comprehensive integrity and compliance solutions for sports, sports betting, gaming and iGaming.”
The policy applies to all regular-season MWC games and the conference championship game.
