Each week, the Deseret News collects high school football stats from around the state, with approximately 85% of the coaches submitting their offensive and defensive stats.

Here’s a look at some headliner performances from Week 4. Also check out the Deseret News’ complete sortable leaders feature for offense, defense and special teams.


Class 6A

Filisi Filipe, Herriman — Had a monster day on the ground with 18 carries for 263 yards and two touchdowns in leading Herriman to the 35-24 victory over Riverton.

Jaxon Hunt, Mountain Ridge — The junior completed 32 of 51 passes for 433 yards and four touchdowns as Mountain Ridge outscored Cedar Valley 31-0 in the second half to pull away for the 52-14 win.

Dyson Parker, Weber — Rushed the ball 23 times for 216 yards and two TDs, the last of which put the game away in the fourth quarter as Weber held off a late rally from Viewmont for the 35-22 win.

Cash Hollingshead, Lehi — Only threw the ball 12 times, but 10 of them went for completions for 239 yards and five TDs as Lehi overwhelmed Desert Hills for the 42-14 win.


Class 5A

Mateni Puamau, Granger — Caught five passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Lancers to the easy 47-9 region win over Hillcrest.

Wyatt Hunter, Woods Cross — Was a standout defensively in Woods Cross’ 38-0 shutout win over Snow Canyon as he recorded five tackles and returned an interception for a TD.

Salesi Moa, Fremont — Hauled in five passes for 152 yards and a touchdowns and then on defense recorded two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, to lead Fremont to the 43-0 victory over Bonneville.

Easton Eilertson, West Field — Completed 21 of 35 passes for 341 yards and six touchdowns in a dominant performance to lead West Field past Roy 41-23.

Jaxon Mortenson, Pleasant Grove — Came up clutch defensively in the Vikings’ 15-6 win over Maple Mountain as he recorded nine tackles and two sacks.


Class 4A

Xavier Cocci, Skyline — Passed for four touchdowns and then rushed for two more as Skyline pulled away from Juan Diego in the second half for the 55-21 region victory.

Kyle Richardson, Pine View — Carried the ball 31 times for 303 yards and four TDs as he ran right through Timpanogos’ defense to lead his team to the 44-20 victory.

Jack Clark, Sky View — Completed 21 of 30 passes for 448 yards and seven touchdowns, three of them to Zach Oxborrow, as Sky View rolled past Bear River 62-17.

Chaz Holbrook, Dixie — Caught eight passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns to lead Dixie to the 34-21 road win at Layton Christian.


Class 3A

Stone Mortensen, Manti — Led the way on both sides of the ball in Manti’s 52-19 win over Juab as he caught four passes for 61 yards and a touchdown and then also recorded two interceptions defensively, one of which he returned for a TD.

Everett Kelling, Cedar — Completed 18 of 27 passes for 220 yards and three TDs and then also rushed for 128 more yards and two scores in leading the Reds to the 56-16 win over Logan.

Ben Vest, Canyon View — Played a key role defensively in Canyon View’s 42-6 win over Carbon as he recorded five tackles and two interceptions.


Class 2A

Mason Ober, ALA — Carried the ball 16 times for 155 yards and four touchdowns as ALA overwhelmed Grand for the 49-7 victory.

Trygg Jensen, Emery — Passed for 218 yards and three TDs and then rushed for 93 more yards and two scores as Emery rolled to the 41-6 win over Judge Memorial.


Class 1A

Nashden Goodliffe, Duchesne — Led Duchesne to the big 24-23 win over former No. 1 Beaver as he carried the ball 21 times for 168 yards and two TDs while passing for 185 more yards and another score.

Knox Woolstenhulme, North Summit — Caught four passes for 114 yards and a touchdown and then also rushed the ball 10 times for 31 yards and another score, including the game winner in the fourth quarter as North Summit rallied past Parowan 22-19.
