Utah’s Big 12 opener against Texas Tech just got even bigger.
Fox has announced that its popular college football pregame show, “Big Noon Kickoff,” will be filmed live outside of Rice-Eccles Stadium prior to the Utes’ clash with the Red Raiders on Sept. 20.
This is the first time Utah has ever hosted “Big Noon Kickoff,” though ESPN’s “College Football Gameday” has come to Salt Lake City on five occasions. “Big Noon Kickoff” previously visited BYU last season prior to the Cougars’ 41-19 win over Arizona.
The “Big Noon Kickoff” cast of analysts includes host Rob Stone, former college stars Brady Quinn, Mark Ingram II and Matt Leinart, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and former Utah head coach and three-time national champion Urban Meyer.
The “Big Noon Kickoff” broadcast will begin at 8 a.m. MST, with the game immediately following at 10 a.m.
The show will be filmed at the southwest corner of Guardsman Way and 500 South, according to Utah athletics. Admission to be part of the viewing crowd is free.
As of Sept. 13, Utah is ranked No. 20 nationally while Texas Tech sits at No. 21, with next week’s matchup critical to determining the early conference hierarchy.
