Jayce Evans added another first-half highlight with a 51-yard touchdown catch from Ryce Palepoi, helping Brighton to a commanding 35-0 halftime lead. Gutierrez further extended Brighton’s lead with a 20-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Viewmont managed two late touchdowns, with Josh Bartholomew catching a scoring pass from Jack Savage as time expired in the third quarter, and Brady Clegg adding another in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bengals’ early dominance.

Woods Cross 28, Bountiful 14

Springville 54, Payson 6

Springville (5-1) cruised to a 54-6 victory over Payson (1-5) in a Region 7 matchup, dominating both offensively and defensively. The Red Devils built an early lead with Siaosi Toki’s 29-yard touchdown run just over five minutes into the game, followed by Tua Naufahu’s 42-yard touchdown reception. Zachary Henderson was pivotal, scoring twice in the second quarter, including a 68-yard interception return. In the final quarter, Olson connected with Issaiah Thompson for a 39-yard touchdown pass just 12 seconds into the quarter, and Cael Esplin sealed the victory with a 1-yard touchdown run with just 0:05 left. Olson stood out, accounting for three total touchdowns. Pine View’s early lead was powered by two touchdown receptions by Brock Harris, but they were held scoreless in the second half by a staunch Snow Canyon defense.

Hurricane 49, Dixie 2

Hurricane (4-2) ended an eleven-year drought against Dixie (2-4) with a commanding 49-2 victory in a Region 9 matchup. Cedar City’s defense held firm throughout, shutting out North Sanpete and ensuring the Hawks did not score. Gavin DeMille capped Cedar City’s scoring with a 29-yard run in the fourth quarter.n pass. Summit Academy 50, American Leadership 10

The Patriots prevailed despite a strong fourth quarter showing from the Bulldogs.


2A South

South Sevier 68, Grand 9

South Sevier (6-0) dominated Grand (0-6) with a 68-9 victory in a 2A South matchup, marking the second most points in school history for the Rams. The scoring barrage began early as Masen Healey showcased his speed with touchdown runs of 63 and 58 yards in the first quarter. Connor Castle also made a significant impact with a 77-yard punt return for a score and a 30-yard touchdown reception from Bridger Bradshaw. Rayce Freeman added to the offensive onslaught with a 55-yard punt return and a 40-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter. Grand managed to get on the scoreboard with a 39-yard field goal by Edgar Hernandez and a 56-yard touchdown pass from Jaxith Windsor to Beto Carroll, but it was too late to shift the momentum.

San Juan 61, Delta 7

San Juan (5-1) dominated Delta in a 2A South contest with a decisive 61-7 victory. The Broncos’ Jagger Nieves was the standout performer, scoring four rushing touchdowns, including a 54-yard and 45-yard dash. San Juan’s air attack was also effective, with Beau Yeomans throwing touchdown passes to Cash Palmer for 62 and 9 yards. Delta (0-5) managed to score only once, with Dayson Meinhardt’s 21-yard rush in the second quarter. The Broncos’ defense kept the Rabbits in check, shutting them out in three quarters and allowing only 7 points.


1A North

North Summit 41, Gunnison Valley 15

North Summit (3-3) powered past Gunnison Valley (2-4) in a commanding 41-15 victory in a 1A North game. The Braves took control with a strong third-quarter performance, where they outscored the Bulldogs 21-0. Knox Woolstenhulme was instrumental, accounting for three touchdowns, including runs of 12 and 34 yards. Tayton Pace contributed with two touchdown passes, a 20-yard connection to Woolstenhulme in the first quarter, and a 32-yard strike to Zach Ernst in the third. Despite a fourth-quarter 35-yard run by Gunnison Valley’s Ryder Coates, the Bulldogs could not close the gap.

Duchesne 76, North Sevier 6

Duchesne (5-1) dominated North Sevier (1-5) in a 1A North game, securing a 76-6 victory with a record-setting 76 points, marking their largest win margin. The Eagles burst out in the first half, scoring 27 points in the first quarter alone with key plays like Rhett Clayburn’s 60-yard touchdown reception from Nashden Goodliffe. The onslaught continued with a second-quarter eruption of 42 points, highlighted by a 98-yard kick return for a touchdown by Rhett Clayburn. For North Sevier, their lone score came in the second quarter when Koy Wasden connected on a 7-yard pass from Houston Mickelsen. Duchesne’s defense shut out the Wolves in three of the four quarters, underscoring their emphatic performance.


1A South

Kanab 26, Beaver 14

Kanab (5-1) capitalized on a strong start and consistent scoring to overcome Beaver (4-2) by a score of 26-14 in a 1A South game. The Cowboys established an early lead with Hayden Gubler’s 2-yard run in the first quarter and extended it in the second when Brogun Virostko connected with Lattimer Glover for a 16-yard touchdown pass. Down 12-0 at halftime, Beaver rallied with a 4-yard touchdown run by Davin Orton in the third quarter, but Kanab responded with another Gubler touchdown, this time from 9 yards out. A 2-yard run from Dawson Orton brought the Beavers within reach in the fourth quarter, but Gubler sealed the game with a late 2-yard run. Kanab’s balanced attack proved decisive in the affair, ensuring their victory.


Nonregion

Davis 29, American Fork 15

Davis (5-1) secured a 29-15 victory over American Fork (5-1) in a nonregion matchup as both teams watched region play begin around them. Davis jumped out to an early lead with Bode Sparrow’s 17-yard touchdown catch from Tradon Bessinger, followed by a Luke Jolley 31-yard field goal in the first quarter. American Fork responded in the second quarter with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Kapano Manuela to Dyson Richards, but Davis maintained control. In the third quarter, Bessinger extended Davis’ lead by connecting with both Tyson Baggett and Jaxton Itaaheau for touchdowns, setting the score at 29-15. David Dean’s 41-yard touchdown reception for American Fork closed out the scoring, but the Cavemen couldn’t close the gap further in the scoreless final quarter.

Rich 55, Utah Military Camp Williams 42

Rich (5-1) surged to an early lead, scoring 42 points by halftime, and held off a late push by Utah Military Camp Williams (3-3) to secure a 55-42 victory. Jett Holmes led the Rebels with a dynamic performance, throwing for multiple touchdowns, including a 36-yard pass to Dylan Fonnesbeck late in the second quarter. Utah Military’s Jason Cordner tried to rally his team with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a 46-yard run with just 31 seconds left, but the Marauders fell short. David Shern contributed significantly for Utah Military with a 62-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Despite the Marauders’ efforts, Rich’s substantial first-half performance proved decisive in their win.

Millard 33, Enterprise 23

Millard (3-3) pulled off a triumphant 33-23 victory over Enterprise (2-4) in a nonregion clash, highlighted by a strong fourth-quarter performance. Kaydon Fowkes was instrumental for the Eagles, scoring three rushing touchdowns, including critical runs of 20 and 37 yards in the final quarter. Connor Stevens also contributed significantly with a 61-yard touchdown run early in the fourth. Enterprise made a late push, with Jake Christensen catching a 20-yard touchdown pass with 3:39 remaining and earlier returning a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown just after Stevens’ long run. Ultimately, Millard’s rushing attack proved too much for the Wolves to handle in the end.

Layton Christian 29, South Summit 16

Layton Christian (4-2) emerged victorious with a 29-16 win over South Summit (2-4), taking control in the third quarter. Chris Monroe’s 9-yard touchdown run at 9:04 in the third quarter shifted momentum, as Layton Christian scored 22 unanswered points to overcome a 14-7 halftime deficit. Monroe contributed with two rushing touchdowns on the night, while Thomas Vito connected with Mark Montgomery for a 23-yard pass, strengthening the Eagles’ lead. South Summit’s early efforts, including a 15-yard interception return by Ammon Marchant in the first quarter, showcased their potential but couldn’t withstand Layton Christian’s third-quarter surge.

Canyon View 27, Emery 12

Canyon View (4-2) relied on a strong start to secure a 27-12 victory over Emery (1-4). The Falcons jumped to an early lead with first-quarter touchdowns from Ryder Miller and Camden Sheridan, both on 2-yard runs, cementing a 14-0 advantage. Emery’s Traxton Conover kept the Spartans on the board with a 48-yard touchdown reception from Beau Stilson in the second quarter. Kade Haymore extended Canyon View’s lead with a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Conover added another score for Emery late in the final quarter with a 3-yard run, but it was not enough to close the gap.

Mountain Ridge 61, Box Elder 7

The Sentinels set the tone early, scoring 30 points in the first quarter alone, highlighted by a 58-yard touchdown pass from Jaxon Hunt to Mckrae Renteria at 7:23. Hunt was instrumental in the victory, throwing multiple touchdown passes, including a 32-yard connection with Tytan DeJong in the second quarter. Box Elder’s only score came on a 35-yard run by Judd Howells midway through the second quarter, as Mountain Ridge’s defense stifled any further offensive efforts from the Bees. Cole Uluave’s 23-yard interception return in the third quarter capped off the Sentinels’ comprehensive performance.

Norwood, Colo. 36, Monticello 6

Norwood, Colo. (1-0) powered past Monticello (2-3) with a commanding 36-6 victory in a nonregion matchup. Norwood took a solid 22-0 lead by halftime, thanks to its balanced scoring across the first two quarters. Monticello managed a late touchdown in the fourth quarter to avoid being shut out but found no answer to Norwood’s relentless defense throughout the game. Norwood’s scoring effort was evenly distributed with each quarter contributing to their comfortable win, showcasing their balanced offensive prowess and a formidable defensive stance that allowed Monticello a single score.

Milford 35, Parowan 6

Milford (4-2) dominated Parowan (3-3) in a convincing 35-6 victory. Kyzler Merryweather was a standout performer for the Tigers, scoring three touchdowns, including a pivotal 60-yard interception return at 9:41 in the second quarter that set the tone for Milford’s win. Merryweather also added a 15-yard touchdown reception before halftime. The Rams’ lone score came on a 41-yard pass from Hunter Bettridge to Mason Biasi with 4:19 left in the second quarter. Boston Thompson and Tayon Blackburn each contributed rushing touchdowns in the second half as Milford’s defense kept Parowan scoreless after the break.

St. Joseph 68, Watersprings, Idaho 58

Madden Bentley threw five touchdown passes, leading St. Joseph (3-2) to a decisive 68-58 victory over Watersprings, Idaho (0-1) in a high-scoring nonregion encounter. Bentley connected on TD passes of 15, 6, 46, 85, and 25 yards, showcasing a dominant passing display. Quinn Vasquez was a key target, scoring on a 25-yard field goal, a 6-yard pass, a dramatic 85-yard reception, and a 25-yard pass while also running for a 20-yard touchdown. Izaiah Hebert added to the effort with both a 15-yard TD catch and a thrilling 85-yard kickoff return. Watersprings struggled to contain the offensive surge, falling behind in their season opener.
