Texas Tech, following its victory over Utah (3-1, 0-1 Big 12), moved up five spots from No. 17 to No. 12 in the AP rankings and up two spots to No. 14 in the Coaches poll.
Iowa State, which had a bye last week, came in at No. 14 in the AP rankings and No. 13 in the Coaches poll.
TCU joined BYU in jumping into the top 25 after previously being unranked — the Horned Frogs, following a 35-24 win over SMU, came in at No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 25 in the Coaches.
Utah and Arizona State are fourth and fifth, respectively, among teams outside the AP top 25 rankings in the “others receiving votes” category — the equivalent of No. 29 and No. 30.
Arizona State and Utah are the first two teams just outside the top 25 in the Coaches poll, in the “others receiving votes” category, while Kansas and Houston also received votes.
