Harry Styles went viral over the weekend and not for releasing new music but for running in the Berlin Marathon on Sunday.
Styles ran the race in under three hours, finishing with a time of 2:59:13 — a personal best, per Citius Mag.
He competed in the over-30 age group under the pseudonym “Sted Sarandos” and placed 2,241st overall and 524th in this group, according to The Athletic.
Styles finished 57 minutes behind winner Sabastian Sawe.
He also crossed the finish line roughly a minute behind Paralympian Richard Whitehead.
Whitehead is a two-time gold and silver Paralympic medalist in the 200- and 100-meters. He holds the world record for fastest marathon time by a bilateral knee amputee after finishing the 2024 Chicago Marathon in 2:41:36, according to Nottingham Post.
Whitehead took a photo with Styles after the Berlin Marathon, which he shared on Instagram.
Styles had an average pace of 6:50 minutes per mile and average speed of 8.77 mph, according to Runners World. He was 4 minutes and 13 seconds shy of meeting the Boston Marathon qualifying time.
Sunday was not Styles’ first marathon.
In March, Styles ran in the Tokyo Marathon and finished with a time of 3:24:07, according to Runners World. He shaved nearly 25 minutes off his time on Sunday.
