Another Timpview product is headed to BYU.

T-Birds big man Will Openshaw has committed to the Cougars, he announced Tuesday via social media.

Openshaw averaged 11.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game as a junior this past season to earn Deseret News 5A All-State Third Team honors.

Though he isn’t currently listed on many of the major recruiting sites, the 6-foot-10 Openshaw held offers from the likes of Utah, Stanford and Cal, according to insider Robby McCombs, but ultimately chose Kevin Young and the Cougars.

McCombs also said Openshaw will serve a Latter-day Saint mission prior to enrolling at BYU, which would set his arrival to the Cougars for 2028.

Openshaw is BYU’s second commit for the class of 2026 thus far, joining his Timpview teammate and 4-star prospect Dean Rueckert.
