The Utah Jazz have waived KJ Martin, the team announced on Tuesday.

Martin came to Utah at the trade deadline last season and only played in 19 games for the Jazz. Though he has some promise, the Jazz are going to have a much deeper roster at the forward position as the 2025-26 season begins, and much of that depth will be made up of young players the Jazz will want to give ample playing time.

So, with an excess of players on the roster on standard deals, and as the training camp roster starts to take shape, the move to waive Martin makes sense.

The Jazz also signed rookies Steven Crowl (Wisconsin) and Matthew Murrell to training camp deals on Monday.
