Each week, the Deseret News collects high school football stats from around the state, with approximately 85% of the coaches submitting their offensive and defensive stats.

Here’s a look at some headliner performances from Week 6. Also check out the Deseret News’ complete sortable leaders feature for offense, defense and special teams.


Class 6A

Jaron Pula, Lone Peak — Ute commit had a monster game with 10 catches for 155 yards and three TDs in Lone Peak’s emphatic 42-21 win over Corner Canyon.

Ledger Wight, Syracuse — Completed 10 of 13 passes for 137 yards and two scores and then also rushed the ball 11 times for 162 yards and two more TDs to lead Syracuse to 52-27 win over Layton.

John Kulimushi, Bingham — Hauled in seven passes for 152 yards and a pair of scores as Bingham topped rival Riverton 28-26.

Jaxon Hunt, Mountain Ridge — Completed 19 of 26 passes for 377 yards and five TDs — his second straight five-TD game — as the Sentinels rolled past visiting Box Elder 61-7.


Class 5A

Ryder Huntsman, Pleasant Grove — Caught 10 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns and added a rushing TD in leading Pleasant Grove to a 42-28 region win over Spanish Fork.

Adam Bywater, Olympus — Rushed the ball six times for 60 yards and a score and added 11 tackles and two interceptions on defense as the Titans beat Alta 45-22.

Staton Gutierrez, Brighton — Had a huge day on the ground with 20 carries for 204 yards and five touchdowns to spearhead Brighton’s 42-14 win over Viewmont.

Ange Ahui, Roy — Was all over the field defensively with six tackles, one sack and an interception he returned for a touchdown late in the game to help seal Roy’s 38-34 win over Bonneville.

Louie Hamilton, West — Rushed the ball 11 times for 147 yards and scored five touchdowns in West’s dominating 79-14 win over Hillcrest.


Class 4A

Titan Borchardt, Hurricane — This sophomore snagged himself a hat trick of interceptions as he helped the Tigers dominate in the 49-2 win over Dixie.

Tanoai Anderson, Crimson Cliffs — Completed 16 of 26 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns as Crimson Cliffs rolled over Deseret Hills for the 42-7 win.

Crosby West, Ridgeline — Rushed the ball six times for 41 yards and two TDs, caught another receiving TD and made seven extra points in Ridgeline’s lopsided 70-0 win over Deseret Peak.

Ronnie Wright, Provo — Caught seven passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns to lead Provo to the 49-25 win over Salem Hills.


Class 3A

Slade Parson, Cedar — Hauled in five receptions for 163 yards and three scores as Cedar rolled to the 42-0 win over North Sanpete

Colton White, Richfield — Rushed the ball 31 times for 216 yards and four touchdowns to power Richfield to the impressive 40-18 win over Manti.

Bryson Downard, Juab — Contributed on both sides of the ball in 38-3 win over Carbon as he returned an interception 78 yards for a score and caught a 60-yard touchdown.


Class 2A

Liam Larson, Summit Academy — Had a monster performance on the ground with 20 carries for 246 yards and four touchdowns, while also adding a receiving TD in the 49-10 win over ALA.

Jagger Nieves, San Juan — Only had 11 carries, but gained 191 yards and had five scores as the Broncos ran over Delta for the 61-7 win.


Class 1A

Kyzler Merryweather, Milford — Carried the ball 15 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns and then also added a pick six score as the Tigers beat Parowan 35-6.

Hayden Gubler, Kanab — Rushed the ball 30 times for 160 yards and three TDs and then added four tackles defensively in Kanab’s big 26-14 win over Beaver.
