Utah rebounded well from its first loss of the year, going on the road and punishing West Virginia early and often in Morgantown, West Virginia, at Milan Puskar Stadium.
Devon Dampier threw for 237 yards and a career-high four touchdowns (to one interception) and ran for 33 yards and one score, as Utah led 35-0 early in the third quarter en route to the blowout.
The Utes rolled up 532 yards of total offense in improving to 4-1 on the year and 1-1 in Big 12 play, ahead of a bye next week.
The Mountaineers, meanwhile, had 346 yards, though only 95 of those yards in the first half came in the first half when Utah built a commanding lead.
Utah scored touchdowns on five of its first six possessions to take control of the contest.
Fourth quarter

The Utes converted two fourth down attempts on the drive, including the touchdown, en route to finding the end zone again.

The drive was sparked by a 68-yard run from Jared Bowie to get the Mountaineers into the red zone.

While the Utes didn’t find the end zone on this scoring drive, they moved the ball with relative ease before bogging down in the red zone.
7:28 — West Virginia finally got on the board after making a quarterback change.
Freshman Khalil Wilkins led a 75-yard drive that was capped by a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cam Vaughn, giving the Mountaineers their first points. Utah 35, West Virginia 7.

Wayshawn Parker caught an 11-yard touchdown pass for the Utes’ first score of the second half, as Utah marched 63 yards in 10 plays to put another seven points on the board. Utah 35, West Virginia 0.

It’s complete domination for Utah in Morgantown, as the Utes controlled the pace of the game from the get-go.
Utah was a perfect 8 of 8 on third downs while rolling up 278 yards of total offense during the first half, as the Utes scored touchdowns on four of their five possessions.
Devon Dampier completed 14 of 19 passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns, with his only blemish a second-quarter interception. He also ran for a touchdown.
NaQuari Rogers, meanwhile, rushed for 61 yards and Ryan Davis had 90 receiving yards in the first half, on six receptions.
West Virginia has been stuck in neutral offensively. The Mountaineers had just 95 yards of offense and were 3 of 9 on third down and 1 of 3 on fourth down.
