Each week, the Deseret News collects high school football stats from around the state, with approximately 85% of the coaches submitting their offensive and defensive stats.

Here’s a look at some headliner performances from Week 7. Also check out the Deseret News’ complete sortable leaders feature for offense, defense and special teams.


Class 6A

Kava Fiefia, Farmington — Did a bit of everything in Farmington’s 24-17 win at Fremont. He completed 2 of 2 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown, caught three passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for another TD and also recorded four tackles.

Dyson Parker, Weber — Carried the ball 16 times for 163 yards and four touchdowns, bumping his season total to 10 TDs, as he led Weber to a 48-20 win over Layton.

Jackson Carruth, Corner Canyon — Only rushed the ball nine times, but made the most of them with 65 yards and five touchdowns to help the Chargers beat Skyridge 49-14.

Kohen Cunningham, Mountain Ridge — Hauled in 15 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns in leading Mountain Ridge to the 41-19 win over Riverton.


Class 5A

Grant Slater, Northridge — Completed 36 of 52 passes for 357 yards and five touchdowns, including the go-ahead TD with just over a minute remaining, as Northridge beat West Field 42-38.

Siaki Fekitoa, Bountiful — Rushed the ball 16 times for 150 yards and two TDs and added 68 receiving yards and another score as Bountiful rolled past rival Viewmont 42-14.

Tua Naufahu, Springville — Recorded a team-high 10 tackles and added a sack as Springville blanked Maple Mountain 28-0 to improve to 6-1 on the season.

Louie Hamilton, West — Carried the ball just seven times, but finished with 177 yards and five touchdowns as the Panthers overwhelmed Taylorsville for the 70-6 win.


Class 4A

Gehrig Orchard, Provo — Had a monster game as he completed 24 of 30 passes for 440 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns as Provo cruised past Timpanogos 61-24.

Micah Jenkins, Green Canyon — Rushed the ball 24 times for 211 yards and three touchdowns as the Wolves beat Bear River 35-0.

Brayden Larsen, Mountain Crest — Completed 16 of 21 passes for 305 yards and seven touchdowns, all in the first half, and rushed for another score as Mountain Crest crushed Deseret Peak 77-0.

Nate Dahle, Ridgeline — Completed 16 of 25 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another score as Ridgeline rolled to the 60-26 win over Sky View.


Class 3A

Tala Taulapapa, Manti — Carried the ball 27 times for 225 yards and two scores, added a receiving TD and recorded six tackles in leading Manti to the 38-28 win over San Juan.

Everett Kelling, Cedar — Passed for 231 yards and one touchdown and rushed the ball 15 times for 164 more yards and four TDs as Cedar held off Richfield 49-41 in a wild game.

Jase Pingree, Logan — Returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown and added six catches for 86 yards and another TD as Logan took care of business against Union 31-10.


Class 2A

Preston Mackowiak, Summit Academy — Completed 28 of 44 passes for 472 yards and five TDs as the Bears fell to South Summit in overtime 41-34.

Cooper Castle, South Sevier — Caught five passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns and added an 87-yard kick return as the undefeated Rams rolled to the easy 69-27 win over Delta.


Class 1A

Kasen Crum, Duchesne — Carried the ball seven times for 75 yards and three touchdowns and added a pick-six and eight tackles as Duchesne cruised past Gunnison Valley 55-8.

Carson Cheney, Milford — Had a big day through the air as he completed 14 of 18 passes for 391 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the Tigers to a 72-6 win over Altamont in an 8-player game.

Jett Holmes, Rich — Passed for 101 yards and two touchdowns and rushed the ball 20 times for 136 yards and another score in leading Rich past Bear Lake, Idaho, 34-21. He chipped in with four tackles defensively.
