New Orleans wide receiver Rashid Shaheed showed off his need for speed Sunday at Caesars Superdome.
The former Weber State star reeled off a career-long 87-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter of the Saints’ 26-14 victory over the New York Giants, giving first-year head coach Kellen Moore his first victory.
After New Orleans quarterback Spencer Rattler faked a handoff, he looked downfield and threw deep to Shaheed, who was crossing the field from left to right. Shaheed caught the ball near the Giants’ 45 and outraced a pair of defenders to the end zone to make it a 14-13 game on a play that helped spark the Saints comeback.

It was Shaheed’s second touchdown catch and the 12th of his career, and the play was also a career-long reception for him.
Shaheed also set an NFL standard with the score. He reached a top speed of 21.72 mph on the 87-yard touchdown, according to Next Gen Stats, the fastest speed that’s been recorded on an offensive touchdown in 2025.
“I feel like we’ve been waiting on a play like that to hit for the last few weeks,” Shaheed told reporters, per the team website. “When the opportunity came, we executed and that’s always a great feeling. I feel like it built momentum the rest of the game for the offense.”
Shaheed’s speedy touchdown was the highlight of the day for 52 Utah ties on NFL active rosters during Week 5 of the NFL season. Here’s a look at how Utah ties performed in the latest week of action.
