Michael Davis has found a new home for his ninth NFL season.

The former BYU defender is “expected” to sign with the New Orleans Saints, according to a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

Davis spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers before playing for the Washington Commanders — and reaching the NFC championship game — this past year.

In 122 career games and 79 starts at cornerback, Davis has made 362 tackles with eight interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Joining the Saints will reunite Davis with Brandon Staley, who was his head coach with the Chargers from 2021-23 and is now New Orleans’ defensive coordinator.

Davis appeared in 48 games — starting 17 — across four seasons at BYU from 2013-16, making 108 total tackles and snatching an interception as a senior.

Despite going undrafted, Davis ranks sixth among career games played among defenders out of BYU.
