6A Playoffs
Westlake 2, Bingham 0
Kennedy Prestwich notched a goal and an assist to lead No. 17 Westlake past No. 16 Bingham 2-0 in the 6A playoffs. Adeline Wierschem recorded an assist and a shutout in goal for the Thunder (6-12). Westlake’s victory sets up a second-round matchup against top-seeded Lone Peak. Bingham ends their season with the same 6-12 record.
Cedar Valley 3, Salt Lake Academy 0
Maren Carwin contributed a goal and an assist to lead No. 15 Cedar Valley to a 3-0 win over No. 18 Salt Lake Academy in the first round of the 6A Playoffs. Cedar Valley’s other goals were netted by Jordyn Rideout and Makena Fullmer, with assists from Mckenna Myers and Olivia Jones. Zuri Gray recorded the shutout for the Aviators (8-10), who advanced to face No. 2 Syracuse in the second round. The Griffins ended their season at 1-16.
5A Playoffs
Brighton 3, Viewmont 0
Oakley Zenger contributed a goal and an assist to lead No. 10 Brighton past No. 23 Viewmont 3-0 in the first round of the 5A Playoffs. Emery Soffe and Ariana Mlikota each added a goal for the Bengals (12-5), while keeper Lillah Slighting secured the shutout. The Vikings (5-13) were unable to find a breakthrough against a staunch Brighton defense. Brighton will advance to face No. 7 West Field in the second round.
Bonneville 2, Fremont 0
Lily Atkinson secured a shutout as Bonneville (11-6) defeated Fremont 2-0 in the first round of the 5A Playoffs. Bonneville’s Allana Smith and Miley Falk each netted a goal, with the Lakers scoring once in each half to seal the victory. With this win, Bonneville advances to face No. 3 Spanish Fork in the second round. Fremont ends its season with a record of 6-11.
Alta 1, Pleasant Grove 1 (Alta wins in PKs 3-2)
Alta clinched a victory over Pleasant Grove 3-2 in the shootout during the first round of the 5A Playoffs. Brynlee Sommer scored a crucial goal for Alta on a free kick in the first half. The game ended 1-1 in regulation, pushing it to a penalty shootout where Alta successfully converted three of their six attempts. With this win, Alta (8-9) advances to face No. 2 Olympus in the second round.
Wasatch 3, Woods Cross 1
Ellie Karl’s goal, assisted by Maddie Anderson, sparked Wasatch’s second-half comeback to beat Woods Cross 3-1 in the first round of the 5A Playoffs. Kate Miller and Kennedi Hunt each scored for the Wasps (10-8), with assists from Karl and Eliza Tolbert respectively. Woods Cross (5-13) took an early lead with a first-half goal but couldn’t hold off Wasatch’s surge after halftime. Wasatch will face No. 5 Timpview in the second round.
West 1, Cyprus 0
Iris Riperton’s second-half goal sealed a 1-0 win for No. 17 West over No. 16 Cyprus in the first round of the 5A playoffs. Maddie Quinlan provided the assist to give the Panthers (9-8) the decisive edge. With the victory, West advances to face No. 1 Kearns in the second round. The Pirates (6-7) were unable to find the back of the net in the tightly contested match.
Box Elder 7, West Jordan 0
Taylor Nye and Desarae Elegante each scored two goals to lead No. 11 Box Elder to a decisive 7-0 victory over No. 22 West Jordan in the first round of the 5A Playoffs. Box Elder (11-5) jumped out with four goals in the first half and never looked back, shutting out the Jaguars (6-10). Marley Barber, Halli Wright, and Maddison Barber also contributed goals for the Bees. Box Elder will advance to play No. 6 Hillcrest in the second round.
Maple Mountain 3, Northridge 0
Mateya Hall scored two goals and added an assist to lead No. 9 Maple Mountain to a 3-0 victory over No. 24 Northridge in the first round of the 5A Playoffs. Haidyn Denton also scored for the Golden Eagles, who improved their record to 10-8. Anya Gulley earned the shutout in goal for Maple Mountain. Northridge fell to 4-13 with the loss. Maple Mountain will face No. 8 Bountiful in the second round.
Clearfield 5, Taylorsville 0
Kamryn Weaver scored twice, including a penalty kick, as No. 13 Clearfield beat No. 20 Taylorsville 5-0 in a first-round 5A playoffs game. Lyla Christensen also netted two goals for Clearfield (9-7), while Emmery Johnson added another, all supported with assists from Claire Hadley. Taylor Sims recorded a shutout for the Falcons. Clearfield advances to face No. 4 Springville in the second round.
4A Playoffs
Sky View 2, Dixie 0
Eva McKay’s early goal and assist helped propel Sky View to a 2-0 shutout victory over Dixie in the first round of the 4A Playoffs. McKay scored with an assist from Bella Hall in the 13th minute, and later assisted Kaytlin Erickson’s goal in the 71st minute. Sky View’s goalkeeper, Dani Hoth, recorded the shutout, giving the Bobcats a (10-8) record. As the No. 13 seed, Sky View advances to face No. 4 Mountain Crest in the second round.
Jordan 4, Tooele 0
Sydney Vessey scored two goals to lead Jordan to a 4-0 victory over Tooele in the first round of the 4A Playoffs. Jocelyn Hauber and Emberly Camacho also found the net for the Beetdiggers, while June Joseph secured the shutout with a solid performance in goal. Jordan (14-4) will advance to face No. 5 Park City in the second round. Tooele ended its season with a 5-12 record.
Timpanogos 4, Hurricane 0
In a dominant first-round playoff performance, Ivy Warner scored twice to lead No. 16 Timpanogos to a 4-0 victory over No. 17 Hurricane. Bree Bentley opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Warner doubled the lead in the 28th minute with Izzy Pierce providing the assist. Raeley Searle added another in the 32nd minute, and Warner sealed the triumph with a second goal in the 55th minute, significantly contributing to the Timberwolves’ success. Timpanogos (8-7) will advance to face No. 1 Ridgeline in the second round. Timpanogos coach Robyn Bretzing said she was proud of her team and the way they possessed and built out of the back.
East 3, Orem 0
Lucy Bergstedt and Mable Meinhardt each found the net as No. 10 East defeated No. 23 Orem 3-0 in the first round of the 4A Playoffs. Delaney Snow also contributed a goal for East, while Maizey Miller recorded the shutout, keeping Orem scoreless throughout the game. East (14-4) advances to face No. 7 Desert Hills in the second round. Orem ends its season at 3-12.
Mountain View 3, Bear River 1
Mountain View beat Bear River 3-1 in the first round of the 4A playoffs, with Brielle Steed contributing a goal and an assist. Savannah Jett and Callie Bryan each added a goal for the Bruins (13-3), who led 2-1 at halftime. Emry Crowther scored the lone goal for the Bears (4-14) in the first half. Mountain View will face No. 8 Stansbury in the second round.
Uintah 8, Juan Diego 2
Emma Glenn netted three goals and provided an assist to lead No. 11 Uintah to an 8-2 victory over No. 22 Juan Diego in the first round of the 4A Playoffs. Julliana Rodd-Caloca added two goals and an assist, while Athena Oldham contributed one goal and two assists for Uintah (11-5), which built a 4-0 lead by halftime. Natalia Shepherd and Riley Brown each scored for Juan Diego (7-11) in the second half. Uintah advances to face No. 6 Crimson Cliffs in the second round.
Cedar City 5, Provo 1
Jaden Hlebasko scored twice to lead Cedar City to a 5-1 win over Provo in a first-round 4A playoff game. The Reds (8-8) surged to a 2-0 halftime lead with goals from Hlebasko and Addison Wood. Provo’s Bulldogs (7-8) managed a single goal in the second half, but Cedar City extended their lead further with additional goals from Tynzlee Nielson and Kyla Johnson. Cedar City advances to face No. 2 Green Canyon in the second round.
Judge Memorial 3, Highland 0
Lily Wikstrom scored all three goals to lead Judge Memorial to a 3-0 victory over Highland in the first round of the 4A Playoffs. Makena Gardner and Sofia Delpouys each contributed an assist for the Bulldogs (11-5), who will face No. 3 Snow Canyon in the second round. Highland ended its season with a 7-9 record.
