Utah native Jaxson Dart has been the topic of a lot of conversation in the NFL this season, as he has now quarterbacked the New York Giants to two victories in three starts as a rookie.
Last week, MaxPreps used Dart’s early success as a launching point to look into which high school programs in the country are producing the most quarterback talent at the collegiate and NFL levels right now.
Writer Nick Pecoraro made the argument that Utah’s Corner Canyon High School — where Dart graduated from — is at least among the five best.
Pecoraro pointed out that in addition to Dart, several other recent former Charger QBs have had success after high school. Zach Wilson is in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, while Isaac Wilson (Utah), Cole Hagen (BYU) and Devin Brown (Cal) are at Power Four programs at the collegiate level.
What’s more, current Corner Canyon starting quarterback Helaman Casuga is set to continue his playing career at Texas A&M next fall after he graduates from high school.
One of the other four schools on Pecoraro’s list, Folsom High in California, is also relevant to the state of Utah, as current Bulldogs starting quarterback Ryder Lyons is set to continue his playing career at BYU next fall after he graduates from high school.
California’s Mater Dei High, Texas’ Southlake Carroll High and Hawaii’s St. Louis High were the other three to crack Pecoraro’s list.
