For the sixth time ever, “College GameDay” is coming to Salt Lake City.
The popular ESPN pregame college football show announced Sunday it is headed to Utah for this Saturday’s matchup between Utah and Cincinnati.
This is the first time since 2023 that “College GameDay” has come to the University of Utah campus. That year, the ESPN show was in town for the Utes’ matchup with Oregon. The No. 6 Ducks beat the No. 13 Utes 35-6 that day.
“College GameDay” will air on ESPN from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. MDT. It will be staged at President’s Circle in the center of the University of Utah campus.
Further details will be announced as the week goes on.
The game between Utah and Cincinnati will kick off at 8:15 p.m. MDT and be televised on ESPN.
In addition to this being the sixth time Utah will host “GameDay” on campus, the Utes have been a part of a “College GameDay” matchup eight previous times.
The show went to Fort Worth in 2009 for the Utes’ game against TCU, and it was also on hand for both of Utah’s trips to the Rose Bowl in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
This is the third time this season that Utah has been a part of a game where a college football pregame show came to town to highlight the matchup.
The Utes hosted Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” for their game against Texas Tech and the show was in Provo for the rivalry game between BYU and Utah.
Utah lost both of those games. Texas Tech beat the Utes 34-10 and BYU won the rivalry matchup 24-21.
The Utes are 2-3 in games where “College GameDay” has come to Salt Lake City and 2-6 in matchups where the ESPN show has been on hand for the game, including four straight losses.
