Final score

No. 13 Utah 55, Baylor 28

Make it three straight wins for Utah in blowout fashion.

Utah, in its first game after a bye, used a bevy of big plays to slice and dice its way to a road victory over Baylor, with Byrd Ficklin delivering two of those chunk plays that ended up as touchdowns.

The Utes had four touchdowns of 60 or more yards in the win, none bigger than Ficklin’s 74-yarder in the third quarter that made it a 35-20 game after Baylor had clawed back within 28-20.

Utah forced the Bears into two turnovers and three turnovers on downs, including a 65-yard pick-six from Elijah Davis, which helped make up for an otherwise subpar night for the Utes defense, as they gave up 563 yards of total offense.

After a slow start, the Utes offense got on track and ended up with 483 yards, including 380 on the ground.

Ficklin had 166 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just six carries, including a 67-yard score in the first half, while Wayshawn Parker added 129 rushing yards and scored twice, once on a run and again on a reception.

Ficklin, who’s getting more reps in conjunction with Devon Dampier, took a QB run and burst through the line before successfully stiff arming a defender and outracing several defenders to the end zone.

8:09 — The Bears have made it a one-score game again.
