Bear Bachmeier has won Big 12 Freshman of the Week on five occasions this season.

But after a 44-13 stomping of TCU, the freshman phenom has earned some more prestigious hardware.

Bachmeier has been named the Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

He is one of three honorees from BYU this week — kicker Will Ferrin was Co-Special Teams Player of the Week, and the Cougars’ defensive line won Defensive Line of the Week.

Bachmeier completed 23 of 33 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown against the Horned Frogs, adding 59 yards on 10 carries and another score on the ground.

The Cougars sacked TCU quarterback Josh Hoover three times, recorded six tackles for loss and held the Horned Frogs to 3.4 yards per carry and 13 total points.

BYU will now head east to Cincinnati in an attempt to move to 10-1 on the season and remain in the Big 12 title race.
