The 2025-2026 high school boys basketball season gets underway this week with the official start of the season on Tuesday. To prepare fans for the upcoming season, the Deseret News has put together capsules for every team in 2A. Every coach was invited to participate and submit information.
The region rankings are based on coaches preseason projections.
There are five new head basketball coaches in 2A this year: Chad Mickelsen (North Sevier), Craig Morris (South Summit), Curtis Condie (Merit Academy), Duce Namazi (ICS), Josh Thompson (Rockwell) and Josh Mackenney (Salt Lake Academy).
