Brendan Sorsby found Jeff Caldwell for a 19-yard touchdown to put Cincinnati within a single score of the Cougars. BYU 20, Cincinnati 14.

Caldwell’s touchdown was the first red zone score of the game for Cincinnati, who traveled 86 yards across eight plays to turn the remainder of this game right on its head.

10:41 — Jay Hill’s defense is creating more chaos.

After a lengthy review, it was determined that Cincinnati receiver Cyrus Allen fumbled the football following a tackle by Tayvion Beasley, with Isaiah Glasker scooping up the ball for a BYU takeaway. BYU 20, Cincinnati 7.

The Cougars will take over at their own 22-yard line.

Ferrin is now in sole possession of second place all-time at BYU in made field goals with 55.

The Bearcats missed their third kick of the night, this time from 48 yards out. BYU 17, Cincinnati 7.

8:26 — BYU capitalizes on Tanner Wall’s interception in a major way.

Following the pick, the Cougars drove 66 yards on 11 plays, with LJ Martin punching it in on the goal line to put BYU ahead by two scores. BYU 17, Cincinnati 7.

Martin, who crossed 1,000 season rushing yards earlier in the drive, now has seven touchdowns on the year and 21 for his career.

BYU now has 123 rushing yards tonight and is averaging 4.9 yards per play.

13:50 — Once again, Tanner Wall comes to the rescue.

Wall picked off a deep Brendan Sorsby pass to thwart Cincinnati’s half-opening drive and give the Cougars the ball back. BYU 10, Cincinnati 7.

Wall now has seven career interceptions and leads the team with four on the year.

Ferrin’s field goal is his 54th at BYU, tying Matt Payne for No. 2 all-time in program history.

BYU has racked up 195 total yards thus far in the first half, but three different third down penalties have proven costly for the Cougars.

The true freshman quarterback scampered into the end zone for the 11th time this season, this time from six yards out to cap a 10-play, 50-yard drive and put the Cougars on the board first. BYU 7, Cincinnati 0.

Bachmeier’s 11 rushing touchdowns are the most for a quarterback in a season in BYU program history.

Thus far, the Cougars have run 16 plays to Cincinnati’s three. LJ Martin has made some early noise, running five times for 23 yards and also adding a 26-yard reception to convert a 3rd and long try.
