After rumors started swirling over the weekend that BYU’s Kalani Sitake was a top target for the head coaching job at Penn State, BYU fans decided to do whatever it took to get Sitake to stay.

One of those fans was Crumbl CEO and BYU booster Jason McGowan.

In response to the rumors, McGowan wrote on X Monday that, “it is time for me to get off the sidelines and get to work.”

Later on Monday evening, McGowan took to X again. This time, he called on BYU fans to share what it means to have Sitake at BYU.

McGowan said he would give two social media users with “incredible responses” a pair of 50-yard-line seats at the Big 12 championship game as well as cover airfare for the game.

He received over a thousand responses.

On Tuesday, McGowan and BYU fans got what they wanted when BYU announced it had agreed to an extension with Sitake.

The storyline of Crumbl thwarting Penn State’s plans spurred an onslaught of new memes on social media.

The memes even got a shoutout from Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt at the end of Wednesday’s episode of “The Joel Klatt Show.”

“All the memes on social media are incredible with everybody that’s a BYU fan basically posting a screenshot of their delivery order and UberEats order from Crumbl Cookies. It’s amazing,” Klatt said. “College football for life. This stuff is amazing. If there’s a Crumbl Cookie logo on BYU’s field next year — if there’s not, I’ll be shocked."

Here are some of the best Crumbl-related memes to come out of the Sitake news.
