A road win over Fresno State in November gave Utah State its coveted sixth win to earn bowl eligibility.

After its narrow loss to Boise State in its regular-season finale, the Aggies just had to wait to get their bowl game.

On Sunday, On3’s Brett McMurphy first reported that Utah State will face future Pac-12 foe Washington State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on the afternoon of Dec. 22.

The matchup was officially announced a short time later.

This will be the fifth time since 2011 that Utah State will play in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The Aggies last played in it in 2023 and are back in it after failing to achieve bowl eligibility last season.
