A little over two months ago, Bruce Branch III, arguably the top high school basketball player in the country in the Class of 2027, announced that he was reclassifying to the Class of 2026.

Even with his reclassification, Branch is still widely considered one of the best prospects in the Class of 2026, and ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported in November that BYU is one of the schools Branch is considering.

On Monday, multiple outlets reported that Branch is currently on a visit to BYU.

As 247 Sports’ Travis Branham noted, Branch’s visit is a very timely one for BYU, as it is set to face top-ranked Arizona Monday night in what should be a raucous environment at the Marriott Center in Provo.

Listed by 247 Sports at 6-foot-7 and 190 pounds, Branch originally hails from Arizona and now attends Prolific Prep, which used to be based in California and is now based in Florida.

If BYU were to sign Branch, it would continue head coach Kevin Young’s streak of landing top tier prospects after Egor Demin and AJ Dybantsa joined the program for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons, respectively.
