Here’s a recap of the results from this past week’s twfouro region swimming meets in Class 4A as the teams prepare for the state tournament at BYU on Feb. 13-14.

The two region champions for the girls were Timpanogos, Desert Hills, Park City and Sky View, while the four boys region champs were Mountain View, Cedar, Murray and Mountain Crest.

Park City’s boys and girls teams are the defending 4A state champs heading into the final meet of the season in two weeks.

Of the 16 individual events, nine featured new season-best times turned in at the four region meets.

For the girls, Desert Hills’ Mackenze Knudsen (50 free), Sky View’s Tayley Meyerson (100 back) and Crimson Cliffs’ Claire Daley (100 breast) recorded the top new marks.

For the boys, Uintah’s Alexander Spainhower (50 free), Crimson Cliffs’ Taylor Fox (200 free), Timpanogos’ Maxwell Wright (100 breast), Ridgeline’s Alex Scott (100 fly) and Mountain Crest’s Brigham Skinner (100 back and 200 IM) all clocked new season bests.
