The Utah Jazz made a couple of smaller moves on Wednesday, complementing the big work they did the previous day.

The team agreed to take Lonzo Ball off the Cleveland Cavaliers’ hands. For their trouble, the Jazz are also getting two second-round picks from the Cavs — 2028 and 2032. According to sources close to the situation, the Jazz are expected to waive Ball in the coming days.

Additionally, the Jazz are sending Jock Landale to the Atlanta Hawks for cash considerations. Landale was part of the package sent to the Jazz on Tuesday when they acquired Jaren Jackson Jr.

The two moves are being made as part of the same deal.

After missing two consecutive seasons (2022-2024) and then playing just 35 games with the Chicago Bulls last season, Ball was traded to the Cavs for Isaac Okoro. Ball has managed to stay healthy this season, but his effectiveness on the court has left a lot to be desired.
