Lone Peak 66, Corner Canyon 51
Saxon Young led Lone Peak with 21 points, including three 3-pointers, to secure a 66-51 victory over Corner Canyon in the second round of the Class 6A state tournament. The Knights outscored the Chargers 21-15 in the fourth quarter to pull away for good. Logan Brimhall contributed 13 points for Lone Peak, while Mo Brown was the leading scorer for Corner Canyon with 14 points. With the win, Lone Peak advances to next Wednesday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
Mountain Ridge 63, Syracuse 52
Spencer Dow led Mountain Ridge with 15 points as the Sentinels defeated Syracuse 63-52 in the Class 6A state tournament’s second round. Mountain Ridge solidified its lead in the first half by outscoring Syracuse 33-21 and maintained momentum despite Colton Hoenigman’s 17-point effort for the Titans. Jordan Horsley and Dylan Hatton each contributed 14 points for the Sentinels. With the victory, Mountain Ridge advances to next Wednesday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
American Fork 67, Copper Hills 35
Jax Clark led American Fork with 17 points, as it defeated Copper Hills 67-35 in the Class 6A state tournament’s second round. American Fork established control with a strong second quarter, outscoring Copper Hills 17-6, and maintains its momentum to advance to next Wednesday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah. Despite the loss, Isaiah Reiser stood out for Copper Hills, scoring 16 points along with three rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Lehi 51, Layton 47
Lehi’s Tuk Howe scored 20 points and hit four 3-pointers, leading the Pioneers to a 51-47 victory over No. 4 seed Layton in the second round of the Class 6A state tournament. Lehi outscored Layton 13-11 in the second quarter to secure a narrow lead, holding off the Lancers in the final period. Farmington 53, Davis 50

Despite a late push by Davis, led by Tradon Bessinger’s 18 points, Farmington held on to secure the win. Herriman 68, Skyridge 51
Carlo Mulford led No. 10 Herriman with 19 points, helping secure a 68-51 victory over No. 7 Skyridge in the Class 6A state tournament’s second round. Herriman jumped to an early advantage, outscoring Skyridge 18-5 in the first quarter and never relinquished its lead. Joel Gardner from Skyridge was the top scorer for his team with 19 points, but it wasn’t enough to close the deficit. Herriman now advances to next Wednesday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.

Pleasant Grove 55, Orem 54
Jaxon Brown scored 20 points, including two 3-pointers, to lead No. 12 Pleasant Grove to a narrow 55-54 victory over No. 5 Orem in the Class 5A state tournament second round. Pleasant Grove cemented its win by keeping a steady performance after outscoring Orem 20-11 in the second quarter. Orem’s Aisa Galea’i also posted 20 points, including five 3-pointers, but the Tigers were unable to overcome Pleasant Grove’s early advantage. Pleasant Grove advances to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
Olympus 68, West 53
Gavin Lowe led Olympus with 20 points as the Titans defeated West 68-53 in the second round of the Class 5A state tournament. Olympus pulled away with a dominant third quarter, outscoring West 21-15, and will advance to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah. Elijah Albertson stood out for West, scoring 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Adam Bywater and Oliver Clarke contributed significantly for the Titans, adding 12 and 10 points respectively.
Highland 70, Viewmont 60
Isaiah Drisdom’s standout performance, scoring 18 points including three 3-pointers, propelled No. 3 Highland to a 70-60 victory over No. 19 Viewmont in the second round of the Class 5A state basketball tournament. Highland broke away with a commanding second half, outscoring Viewmont 47-30 across the last two quarters. Adam Henderson led Viewmont with 19 points and seven rebounds. The Rams advance to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
Springville 82, Roy 63
Mason Hansen sparked Springville with 20 points, including four 3-pointers, leading to an 82-63 triumph over Roy in the Class 5A state tournament’s second round. Springville opened up the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring Roy 26-18 to pull away for good. Jamyn Sondrup added 22 points for the Red Devils, who advance to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah. Jesse Jones from Roy topped his team with 23 points, including three 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough to halt Springville’s advance.
Bountiful 65, Payson 50
Lincoln Smith scored 21 points, including four 3-pointers, leading No. 8 Bountiful to a 65-50 victory over No. 9 Payson in the Class 5A state tournament second round. Bountiful expanded its lead with a strong second and third quarter, outscoring Payson 15-14 and 16-14, respectively. Austin Staheli tallied 17 points, hitting four 3-pointers for Payson. With this win, Bountiful advances to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
Wasatch 47, Salem Hills 41
JJ Serre’s 19 points, including three 3-pointers, led No. 4 Wasatch to a 47-41 victory over No. 13 Salem Hills in the Class 5A state tournament’s second round, advancing them to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah. Carsen Behnke added 15 points for the Wasps, who overcame a four-point first-quarter deficit by outscoring Salem Hills 13-10 in the second quarter, narrowing the gap to one point at halftime. Salem Hills’ Elijah Gasser scored 12 points, while Jake Polson added 11, leading the SkyHawks’ scoring effort.
Woods Cross 72, Cyprus 59
Elliot Bendinger scored 20 points to lead No. 11 Woods Cross to a 72-59 double-overtime victory over No. 6 Cyprus in the second round of the Class 5A state tournament. Woods Cross rallied with an 18-point fourth quarter and secured the win with a 17-4 run in the second overtime. Alen Hadzialijagic led Cyprus with 24 points, but it wasn’t enough to fend off the Wildcats. With the win, Woods Cross advances to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.
Alta 65, Timpview 55
Krew Eckman scored 28 points to lead No. 17 Alta to a 65-55 victory over top-seeded Timpview in the Class 5A state tournament’s second round. Alta outscored Timpview 25-17 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Coby Goodfellow added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, for the Hawks. Timpview’s Dean Rueckert led his team with 22 points and four 3-pointers. Alta advances to next Monday’s quarterfinals at the University of Utah.

Piute 95, Wendover 31
Piute’s Andres Nevarez led the Thunderbirds with 18 points in a dominant 95-31 victory over Wendover in the second round of the Class 1A state tournament. Piute outscored Wendover 31-4 in the third quarter to secure an insurmountable lead. The Thunderbirds had solid contributions from Blake Gleave and Brodee Montague, who added 13 and 14 points, respectively. Mario Lopez and Lavar Tom each recorded 10 points for Wendover. With this win, Piute advances to next Thursday’s quarterfinals at SLCC.
Panguitch 52, Altamont 33
Trenton Virga’s 19-point performance led No. 5 Panguitch to a 52-33 victory over Altamont in the Class 1A state tournament’s second round. Panguitch pulled away with a 13-1 second quarter to establish a strong halftime lead. Kaden Bailey added crucial points with his pair of 3-pointers, while Tayze Barney contributed 10 points for the Bobcats. With the win, Panguitch advances to next Thursday’s quarterfinals at SLCC.
Wayne 61, Milford 42
Hunter Robins scored 15 points as Wayne defeated Milford 61-42 in the second round of the Class 1A state tournament. Blake Peterson contributed 14 points, including two 3-pointers, helping Wayne outscore Milford 16-5 in the second quarter to establish a significant lead. Carter Scott and Dylan Fonnesbeck each scored 14 points to lead No. 1 Rich to a commanding 74-50 victory over No. 17 St. Joseph in the Class 1A state tournament’s second round. Ridge Lundgren also contributed 14 points, including two 3-pointers, helping the Rebels outscore the Jayhawks in each quarter and secure a playoff berth. Chase Fridberg-Gerlich was St. Joseph’s standout with 14 points, including two 3-pointers. Rich advances to next Thursday’s quarterfinals at SLCC.

Bryce Valley 54, Tintic 49
Bryce Valley overcame an early deficit to edge Tintic 54-49 in the second round of the Class 1A state tournament. Rodolfo Perez led the Mustangs with 15 points, including two 3-pointers, helping them pull ahead with a 16-7 third quarter. Braylon Jones scored 19 points for Tintic, but the team couldn’t recover from the third-quarter gap. With this victory, Bryce Valley advances to next Thursday’s quarterfinals at SLCC.
Green River 58, Monticello 40
Jason Hernandez led Green River with 19 points, contributing significantly to its 58-40 victory over Monticello in the second round of the Class 1A state tournament. With strong performances from David Mendez and Rolando Anguiano, who added 13 and 12 points respectively, the Pirates pulled away with a consistent scoring effort throughout the game.
