Ben Jacobson just picked up his first pair of wins at Utah State.
Two Aggies stars — Mason Falslev and Karson Templin — have pledged their return to Logan to play for the program’s new head coach.
Templin, the 2026 Mountain West Sixth Man of the Year, announced his intention to enter the transfer portal in late March after Utah State coach Jerrod Calhoun was hired at the University of Cincinnati.
As a junior this past season, Templin averaged 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds across 36 games while shooting 50.2% from the field.
While garnering plenty of interest from Power Five programs, the forward from Texas will instead conclude his college career as a lifetime Aggie, announcing that he is re-signing with Utah State this past Saturday.
Falslev never officially entered the transfer portal, but his status appeared up in the air considering the coaching change and the widespread interest he’d surely fetch on the open market.
But like Templin, Falslev will remain in his native Cache Valley, as Utah State announced his re-signing on Monday.
A three-year starter, Falslev has averaged 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists across 104 games with the Aggies, earning Mountain West Player of the Year honors this past season.
Despite originally committing to Ryan Odom, Falslev played a year under Danny Sprinkle and two seasons for Calhoun before now getting one last ride in Logan with Jacobson.
Jacobson won 397 games in 20 seasons at Northern Iowa, including four NCAA Tournament victories.
During Templin’s and Falslev’s time at Utah State, they’ve helped the Aggies win two contests in the Big Dance, exceeding the program’s tournament win tally from the previous 50+ years.
