The University of Utah added a talented edge rusher to its 2027 recruiting class Tuesday.

247 Sports’ Blair Angulo first reported that Jack Henderson committed to Morgan Scalley’s program just days after he received a scholarship offer from the program, and he later confirmed the commitment.

Who is Jack Henderson?

Henderson is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound edge rusher from Bishop Kelly High School in Boise, Idaho.

He is rated a three-star prospect with an 0.8600 overall rating in 247 Sports’ composite ratings and is the top recruit from the state of Idaho in the 2027 class, according to 247 Sports.

At the time of his commitment to Utah, Henderson also held offers from a half dozen other FBS schools including Washington State, San Diego State, Fresno State, New Mexico, San Jose State and Air Force, per 247 Sports.

He is rated the No. 77 overall edge rusher in the 2027 class by 247 Sports.

“I loved visiting with the coaches and just getting a feel for everything they’re hoping to continue doing there with the new staff,” Henderson told 247 Sports. “There is obviously a lot of stability and continuity with coach Morgan Scalley taking over, and I really believe in their defensive identity and I think it’s a perfect fit for me from a football sense and also just in general. I loved being around the program.”

How does he fit into Utah’s 2027 recruiting class?

Henderson is the second player to verbally commit to the Utes’ 2027 class.

He joins wide receiver Kingston Parks, a three-star talent out of Texas.
