Aleksej Kostic is headed out of Provo.
BYU’s freshman guard has entered the transfer portal, according to a Monday report from Draft Express.
Kostic appeared in 27 games for the Cougars this past season, averaging 4.4 points and shooting 36.7% from 3-point range. He also made five starts late in the season, filling in for the injured Richie Saunders.
The Austria native scored in double figures on five occasions — with four coming in Big 12 play — and had 10 outings with multiple made triples.
BYU has now lost eight players to the transfer portal — Xavion Staton, Dominique Diomande, Rob Wright III, Kennard Davis Jr., Tyler Mrus, KJ Perry, Abdullah Ahmed and Kostic.
Collin Chandler is the Cougars’ lone transfer addition thus far in the offseason, and Brody Kozlowski, Khadim Mboup, Nate Pickens and Dawson Baker are the only players from last year’s team who are still currently with the program.
