Week 6 of the high school track season was a relatively quiet one in Utah, as many of the top athletes in the state traveled to California to participate in the Arcadia Invitational.

Those athletes’ performances aren’t included in this week’s top performances list — as they’re ineligible for the UHSAA state record books — but they’re still worth noting.

Herriman’s Jackson Spencer won the 3,200 invitational race with a blistering time of 8:31.80, breaking the meet record by three seconds.

In the marquee hurdles events, Weber’s Josh Hamblin won the 300 hurdles (36.40) and finished second in the 110 hurdles (13.42). He owns the state records in both times from earlier this season.

Bonneville’s Davis DeGroot finished second in the 400 Invitational with a time of 46.07.

Union’s Lisa Richard’s took second in the High Jump Invitational as she cleared 5′08.

Other athletes who performed well in their seeded races were Orem’s Peter Mecham, Alta’s Aidan Neal, American Fork’s Grant Hejny, Juab’s Jaden Heap and Lone Peak’s Hailey Atwater.

Stand out field events performers in their invitational events or seeded events were Lone Peak’s Matthew Bryant, Corner Canyon’s Tina’u Fiaui, Pine View’s Kiera Sam Fong and Pine View’s Mailey Rimmasch.
