The staff members at Children’s Education Center of the Islands in Sanibel, Florida, fill out a daily report for each child in their day care program. The daily reports detail how the children felt, when they needed diaper changes and if they need any additional supplies from their parents.

In a Facebook post, single mom Heather Chisum said that sometimes when she picks up her two children from day care, she’s tired after working a full-time job and doesn’t read that report, WINK News reported.

And on Monday, after missing the report that said her 1-year-old son, Milo, had run out of diapers, an employee at the day care decided to send Chisum a message — literally.

When Chisum went to change her son’s diaper after picking him up, she was appalled to find “Mom, I’m out of diapers pls read my report” written in marker across his torso. She quickly took to Facebook, asking her friends if she was overreacting or if she was right to be angry. Her anger only increased when she found that she couldn’t get the marker off, even with scrubbing.

NBC reported that the post has gone viral, with more than 30,000 shares and 22,000 reactions.

Day care program executive director Cindy Carter DeCosta told News-Press the teacher’s actions were a violation of the program’s professional ethics and that the day care staffer had been fired. The Florida Department of Children and Families is also looking into the incident, Fox News reported.
