This antibody treatment was a ‘cure’ for COVID-19, President Trump said. Will you get to take it?

Regeneron hopes the Food and Drug Administration will allow the company to have emergency use authorization” for the antibody treatment taken by President Donald Trump last week.

Trump called the treatment a “cure.” In a five-minute video, Trump said getting COVID-19 was a “blessing from God” and that the cocktail made him feel better, The New York Times reports.

Regeneron said “if an EUA is granted the government has committed to making these doses available to the American people at no cost and would be responsible for their distribution.”

• Right now, there are doses available for 50,000 people, according to Regeneron. The company said that could jump to 300,000 in the next few months.
• REGN-COV2 reportedly combines antibodies to blocks infectivity, according to CNBC. Trump was reportedly given a dose even though it wasn’t authorized.
