While turkey is indeed the centerpiece of Thanksgiving meals, it’s no secret that most of us prefer other dishes on the table. Well, Baskin Robbins is here to change that with the return of its limited edition seasonal dessert: the Turkey Cake.

According to Delish, the beloved ice cream chain has been crafting turkey-shaped ice cream cakes since the 1970s and its most updated (and realistic looking) version is available for purchase right now.

About the cake

  • The Turkey Cake achieves its signature, realistic look and shape using two sugar cones for its “legs” and a caramel praline topping for the “glaze.”
  • Patrons can “stuff” the cake with their choice of ice cream, ranging from Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough to Peanut Butter ‘n Chocolate to Old Fashioned Butter Pecan and more, per Delish.
  • The base of the “turkey” is surrounded by decorative green frosting meant to look like a realistic garnish.
  • The “bird” serves 8-12 people.

How to get it

According to Baskin Robbins’ website, Turkey Cakes sell for $32.99 (before tax), but be warned: this festive cake is not available at all Baskin-Robbins locations, Us Magazine reports.

According to the site, when one prospective buyer took to Twitter to lament her fruitless endeavor to obtain a Turkey Cake, the ice cream shop responded. Their response explained that BR franchises are independently owned and operated so product availability varies from store to store. So, before you drive on over to your local outpost to pick up a bird, be sure to call or check online first.
