Disneyland Resort will soon reopen as a COVID-19 vaccination site after months of being closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
What’s going on?
Disneyland — which is located in Anaheim, California — will serve as a super point-of-dispensing (POD) site for COVID-19 vaccines in Orange County, Deadline reports.
- The site is expected to start offering vaccines later in the week.
- The same will happen at Dodger Stadium, officials said.
- “The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first super POD site — undertaking a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process,” said acting chairman Andrew Do, first district, in the Orange County announcement about the decision.

The decision to move vaccination sites to Disneyland and Dodger Stadium reflect California’s decision to speed up COVID-19 vaccination efforts, according to The New York Times. The state has been struggling with a massive surge of COVID-19 cases, becoming an epicenter for the United States.
