Brian Laundrie’s sister, Cassie Laundrie, may have visited the Fort De Soto campground at the same time as the rest of the Laundrie family, according to NewsNation Now.
This would mean she may have seen Brian Laundrie despite saying previously that she had not seen him since he came back to Florida.
Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino told NewsNation Now exclusively that Cassie Laundrie may have gone to the Fort De Soto campground, where Laundrie’s family spent time at the beginning of September.
“To my knowledge, Cassie went for a day,” Bertolino told NewsNation Now reporter Brian Entin.
But Cassie Laundrie told “Good Morning America” in September that she had not spoken on Brian Laundrie since he came back to Florida, though.
“I haven’t been able to talk to him. I wish I had information where I could give more,” she said.
Brian Laundrie returned to Florida without Gabby Petito despite being on a summer-long road trip with her. Petito was reported missing by her family on Sept. 11. Three days later, Brian Laundrie took off from his home and has not been seen since. It was on Sept. 19 that authorities found humans remains that were later confirmed to be Petito in Wyoming, who died by homicide.
Brian Laundrie is still a person of interest in the Petito case.
WFLA reported that public records show the Laundrie family visited the Fort De Soto campground Sept. 6-8. Bertolino told reporter Jossie Carbonare that the family went camping at the campground during that time period.
“The family went camping. The FBI is aware of Brian’s whereabouts well after that camping trip,” Bertolino told Carbonare.
A couple from Fort Myers, Florida, shared a selfie that might have shown Brian Laundrie in the background at the campsite.
