Brian Laundrie’s notebook “may be salvageable,” police said this week, paving the way for authorities to find more answers in the mysterious case of Laundrie and his girlfriend, Gabby Petito.
What does Brian Laundrie’s notebook say?
Last week, authorities discovered a notebook, backpack and a dry bag with other items of Laundrie’s in an area that had previously been underwater. Laundrie’s remains were found later that same day, according to Fox News.
- Laundrie was wanted as a person of interest in the disappearance and homicide of Petito, a 22-year-old woman who went missing in late summer 2021.
Eyes have turned to Laundrie’s notebook for answers on what happened to him at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. Experts said it may be the key to understanding what happened to him and to Petito.
- “It appears it may be salvageable. That really is a question for FBI though,” North Port Police Department Public Information Officer Josh Taylor told Fox News Digital.
What happened to Gabby Petito?
Petito and Laundrie had been on a cross-country road trip this summer. But only Laundrie returned home on Sept. 1, driving Petito’s van.
- She was later reported missing by her family and found dead in Wyoming on Sept. 19. A Wyoming coroner said she died by strangulation.
How did Brian Laundrie die?
Laundrie was reported missing on Sept. 17. He was missing until Oct. 20 when authorities found a body that was confirmed to be Laundrie one day later, the Deseret News reported.
- Steven Bertolino, the Laundrie family’s attorney, said Monday in a statement to NBC News that “no manner or cause of death was determined” from the autopsy.
