Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James mocked Kyle Rittenhouse on Twitter Thursday, poking fun at Rittenhouse for crying on the stand.

On Wednesday, Rittenhouse testified before a jury about what led to the shooting of Joseph Rosenbaum in Kenosha, Wisconsin, according to CNN.

  • Rittenhouse said he traveled from his home in Antioch, Illinois, to protect the property of people protesting the fatal shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, by a white police officer.
  • During his testimony, Rittenhouse openly sobbed and wept when he was talking about the events of Aug. 25, 2020.

James commented on the sobbing by quote-tweeting a USA Today video of the moment, according to Sports Illustrated.

  • “What tears????? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court,” he tweeted.

Per The Washington Post, Rittenhouse committed the shootings during the Kenosha, Wisconsin, unrest. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

  • “The case has divided Americans over whether Rittenhouse was a patriot taking a stand against lawlessness or a vigilante,” according to The Washington Post.

The trial continued Thursday.
