A Louisiana man doesn’t advise you to take part in the Gorilla Glue Challenge. He did so himself, and he ended up in the hospital.

What is the Gorilla Glue Challenge?

The new internet challenge is based on a viral TikTok video. As I wrote for the Deseret News, the video was from Tessica Brown, who applied Gorilla Glue to her hair. Unfortunately, the glue kept the hair in place and she couldn’t move it at all. The video went nuts across TikTok, and apparently spawned a new challenge.

This woman glued her hair in place. Here’s what Gorilla Glue said in response

So what happened with the Louisiana man?

 • Len Martin ended up in the hospital for attempting to replicate what happened to Brown, according to HITC. Per KDVR, Martin previously appeared on the “Dr. Oz Show” to embrace other challenges.
 • Martin said he created the challenge because he wanted to show it wasn’t as bad it seemed. So he applied Gorilla Glue to his lip, saying he could lick it off. It didn’t work.
 • “This is not the challenge you want to try,” he said.

More warnings

Gorilla Glue released a statement about its product, advising people to avoid any challenges related to it.

“Our spray adhesive states in the warning label, ‘do not swallow, Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing…’ It is used for craft, home, auto or office projects to mount things to surfaces such as paper, cardboard, wood, laminate and fabric.”
