Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is becoming easier. Multiple states — including Utah — have begun to open up eligibility for all adults to receive the vaccine in the next month or so.

  • The website Dr. B wants to help you get a vaccine quicker, though. The website will send you a text message when there are extra doses nearby that might go unused.
  • Of course, the service is based on eligibility status. So if you’re not eligible yet, it might be best to wait. But this way you won’t have to wait for your specific appointment date.

Cyrus Massoumi, the website’s founder, told USA Today that Dr. B serves as a “way of helping people help people.”

  • “You have people who want the vaccines for them or their loved ones, and your vaccine providers want to do the right thing, but they need the appropriate tools to deal with the operational challenges of vaccinating the whole country,” Massoumi told USA Today.

The website has helped people in Arkansas and New York so far. But more than 200 vaccination sites in 30 different states will start using it soon, per USA Today.

The Utah angle

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said this week that all Utahns can be eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations beginning April 1, as the Deseret News reported. This once again moves up the timeline for ensuring that every Utah adult can be protected against the novel coronavirus if they want.
