A Virginia man said his body became covered in a giant red rash after getting the COVID-19 vaccine, WRICreports.
What side effects from the vaccine did he suffer?
Richard Terrell, who hails from Goochland County, Virginia, said he received a dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
- He said he suffered a severe rash across his entire body as a direct result of the shot. He said he went to the hospital and spent five days at the VCU Medical Center.
- He told WRIC he is still pretty weak from the vaccine, and it will take time to recover.
- That said, Terrell said he is still thankful for his vaccine.
Dr. FNU Nutan, one of the doctors who worked with Terrell, said the reaction to the vaccine was similar to a drug reaction. The doctors did tests to find it was the vaccine that caused the reaction.
- “If you look at the risk for adverse reaction for the vaccine it’s really, really low,” Nutan told WRIC “We haven’t seen a great concern at all. I am a big proponent of the vaccine.”

Is the COVID-19 vaccine safe?
