The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will soon release guidelines for Americans who have received the COVID-19 vaccine, explaining what they can and can’t do, Politico reports.

The guidance will likely say that fully vaccinated individuals — those who receive two shots for the Pfizer, Moderna vaccines, or those who got one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine — can gather in small groups with other people who have been vaccinated.

  • Currently, the CDC recommends people should only gather “virtually or with the people you live.”

However ...

The guidelines are expected to tell fully vaccinated people to embrace other public health measures, like wearing a mask in public and social distancing, according to CBS News.

  • According to Politico, “the agency’s advice is likely to disappoint many who hoped the increasing pace of inoculations would allow some common restrictions to be relaxed immediately for vaccinated people.”

It’s unclear when these guidelines will be released. But the measures could be released as early as Thursday, per Politico.

Anything else?

Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, reportedly reviewed the guidelines, according to Fox News.

  • Per CBS News, Fauci said at a press briefing that small gatherings between fully vaccinated individuals are “so low that you would not have to wear a mask, that you could have a good social gathering within the home.”
