The lawyer for Gabby Petito’s boyfriend Brian Laundrie has revealed that his family found a note on his car in Florida, according to The New York Post.
Laundrie’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, said the police left a note on his car, which was parked near the Carlton Reserve in Sarasota County, Florida.
- The note, written by police, asked for the car to be removed.
- However, the family decided to leave the vehicle there until Thursday, Sept. 16, hoping that he would return to it.
Officials are still looking for Laundrie, who has been missing since Sept. 14. His family told North Port police in Florida that Laundrie had been missing on Friday.
Laundrie and Petito went on a cross-country road trip this summer, which included visits to Utah locations such as the Mystic Hot Springs and Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands and Arches national parks.
Laundrie returned home to North Port, Florida, on Sept. 1 without Petito. Ten days later, Petito was reported missing and a nationwide search began. On Sunday, the FBI said it had found human remains outside a Wyoming national park that were consistent with the description of Petito. A full forensic analysis will be done Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
After Laundrie went missing, authorities started looking for Laundrie at the Carlton Reserve in Florida. The search ended on Monday due to swampy and rainy conditions in the area.
North Port police and FBI agents will now head back to the Carlton Reserve Tuesday. The FBI will lead the investigation with the North Port police assisting on the case.
