Savannah Guthrie returned to the “Today” show studios for the first time since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing Feb. 1.
“I have every intention of coming back,” Guthrie told her colleagues during the Thursday morning visit. “I don’t know how to come back, but I don’t know how not to. You’re my family. And I would like to try.”
The co-anchor thanked the staff and crew for all their prayers and support and for “caring about my mom as much as I do,” according to "Today." Guthrie has not yet set a specific date for her official return to the anchor desk.
“I wanted you to know that I’m still standing, and I still have hope and I’m still me,” she shared during her visit. “And I don’t know what version of me that will be, but it will be.”
Guthrie’s last appearance on the NBC morning show was Jan. 30, two days before her 84-year-old mother was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home.
“I’m holding onto my faith,” Guthrie shared. “I still believe. And as my mom would say, ‘Where else would I go?’”
Status of the Nancy Guthrie investigation
It has been more than one month since Nancy Guthrie disappeared. The family is offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to finding her.
When announcing the reward on Feb. 24, Guthrie said that while the family believes her mother “can come home,” they also “know that she may be lost” or “already be gone.”
The FBI is currently seeking a male described as between 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with an average build. Doorbell camera images recovered by investigators showed an armed, masked man outside the Guthrie home the morning of her disappearance. In the footage, the individual was wearing a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hike Pack backpack.
