Jenny B wants to congratulate you on your pregnancy, even if you’re not pregnant.
A unique set of congratulation cards have gone viral. They’re cards that congratulate women on their new baby — even if the receiver isn’t pregnant or doesn’t plan on having children, according to The Lily, which first reported on the cards.
And the cards are from a company located in Utah, too.
The cards seem wholesome on first glance. They come from a woman named “Jenny B,” who writes in the card, “Congratulations!!! I’m so excited for you! I hope you like these.”
The card includes 12 gift cards and coupons that are centered around baby gifts, like slings, onesies, pacifiers and more, according to The Lily, the first U.S. newspaper for and by women.
The card comes from a place in Pleasant Grove, Utah, called Mothers Lounge, which is a retailer for mothers and babies. The gift cards and coupons come from brands connected to Mothers Lounge, too. Mothers Lounge founder is a woman named Jenny Bosco.
Social media has been sharing the cards for some time. Those who received the cards have wondered why they’re getting them.
ALRIGHT LADIES: Since it’s come to my attention there are a bunch of us getting these weird cards, I figured we should try to get in contact with Jenny B. For those of you just tuning in, apparently many women in my age range received this exact card in the mail this week: pic.twitter.com/unFzhntvjQ— Brittany Comak (@brittanycomak) October 23, 2019
BBB spokesperson Kelsey Coleman told The Lily the company may be using an old database to send these cards since not all of the cards are going to pregnant women. Most are sent to women in their 20s without any clue about whether they’re about to have children or not.
