SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah Highway Patrol trooper who was helping a motorist involved a rollover crash was hit by another vehicle while sitting in his vehicle.
On Wednesday, a trooper had responded to an accident in Provo Canyon in which an SUV rolled off the road and landed on its roof in the North Fork of the Provo River, according to a statement from the UHP. The driver of that crash suffered minor injuries.
But while on scene, another vehicle going too fast for conditions hit the rear of the UHP truck the trooper was sitting in, according to the highway patrol.
“The trooper was transported and checked out for his minor injuries,” the UHP stated. “We wish the trooper a quick and healthy recovery. The Utah Highway Patrol would like to ask drivers to slow down while traveling in the snowstorms and to put away all distractions.”
