ALTA — A Seattle man died at Alta Ski Area on Thursday — the second death at a Utah ski resort this week.
First responders were called to a medical emergency in the “Sunspot” area of the resort just after 2:30 p.m., according to the Alta town marshal. Skiers found Sean Brennan, 37, unconscious and unresponsive in deep snow near a tree.
After lifesaving efforts by witnesses who found Brennan and the Alta Ski Patrol, he was taken to Alta Medical Clinic where he was later declared dead.
Investigators were working with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death, but at this point Brennan’s death appears to be accidental, the Alta marshal said. Police said they have no reason to believe anyone else was involved.
On Tuesday, Charles “Charlie” Noxon, 20, of Los Angeles, died after crashing into a sign near Canyons Village at Park City Mountain Resort.
