TOOELE — An autopsy has determined a man whose body was found at the edge of a fire in Tooele County was shot to death, the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

The victim was identified as Vincent Howard Beazel, 60, of Stansbury Park.

On Oct. 24, emergency crews responded about 12:25 p.m. to a fire in Soldier Canyon, which forced the evacuation of the canyon.

“Upon arrival firefighters located a deceased male on the west edge of the fire,” according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. “After processing the scene, investigators determined the suspicious death was a homicide.”

Whether the homicide and fire are connected was still being investigated Friday. A late 1990s while Honda Accord was found abandoned near the scene.
