SALT LAKE CITY — The death of a man whose body was found in a Salt Lake field is now a homicide investigation, police announced Tuesday.

Just before 2 a.m. on Nov. 24, the body of Michael Paul Furbush, 31, was found in a field at 1075 S. Redwood. At the time, police called his death “suspicious.”

Furbush was homeless and staying in the field with others, Salt Lake police said in a statement. A cause of death was not released.

Detectives are looking or a “person of interest” who was last seen on Nov. 23 at 5:15 p.m. on Redwood Road at California Avenue. The man was wearing dark clothing and pushing a bicycle with a child carrier trailer attached. The trailer contained a grey and red tent and a blue tarp.
