SALT LAKE CITY — A West Jordan man accused of soliciting nude photos from teenagers has been charged in two separate cases.

David Tulaga, 23, was charged Monday in two cases in 3rd District Court with a total of three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; dealing in harmful materials to a minor, endangerment of a child, and unlawful sexual activity with a minor, all third-degree felonies.

Two girls, ages 15 and 16, both told police they met Tulaga on Snapchat.

In a case investigated by Cottonwood Heights police, a 16-year-old girl told detectives that Tulaga “deals nicotine pens and marijuana to minors,” and she contacted him through Snapchat to make a purchase, according to charging documents.

In May, Tulaga requested nude pictures of the girl, according to the charges. After receiving some pictures, Tulaga threatened to send the photos to others after he and the girl got into an argument, according to police.

In a case investigated by Salt Lake police, the 15-year-old girl told detectives that he provided her with marijuana and she engaged in sexual activity with him, the charges state. The girl also sent nude pictures of herself to Tulaga at his request, police said.
